Heritage Weekly – Thanksgiving Edition

Dear Family,

Quick Announcement: On 12/6/09 we will not have teaching time and will hold our worship service to 10 a.m.. The school is having a concert at 1 p.m. so we need to be out early that day.

Tomorrow is a day set aside to give thanks to our God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ. We thank Him for all of our rich blessings. I thought I would share with you a few things for which I am truly grateful to God.

First, I am thankful that God’s perfect Son was my substitute under the wrath of the Father against my sin.

Second, I am thankful for the wonderful wife and children God has blessed me with. I don’t deserve any of them, but I am ever so grateful that we don’t always get what we deserve!

I am also very thankful for a great church family. I’m grateful for each one of you. You are a real source of encouragement to me as we walk side by side seeking to serve God. I’m also thankful for your patience with me as I grow in sanctification day by day. Please continue to pray for me that the Lord would mold me into the man He wants me to be. Thank the Lord that He has provided a very nice and big new facility. May we use it in a manner that will bring honor and glory to His name.

Finally, tomorrow I will give thanks for the freedom that we have in this country. I need to remember that there is no guarantee that it will last and that I should make the most of it while God preserves it by His grace.

Happy Thanksgiving!
