Heritage Weekly – Romans Edition 1

Greeting Family,

Today is the first Weekly edition in which I will include discussion questions for our Romans sermon series (see below).  As always, the sermons will be posted on the church web site within a couple days of being preached.

Update on Jenni Seven:  She is doing better, but will spend one more night in the hospital just to be on the safe side.  Please continue to pray for her to have strength and for healing.  As you could see from the pictures, Eva Gloria Grace is doing great!

Reminder:  If you are planning to participate in the upcoming pinewood derby, please get your money to Brad Seven…the deadline is tomorrow.

Elder meeting minutes from last week are attached for your review.

Here is another good reminder from Rev. J.C. Ryle about how we should come to Christ:

“Beware of mistakes as to the manner of coming to Christ. Dismiss from your mind forever all ideas of worthiness, merit, and fitness in yourself. Throw away all notions of goodness, righteousness, and personal deservings. Think not that you can bring anything to recommend you, or to make you deserving of Christ’s notice. You must come to Him as a poor, guilty, undeserving sinner, or you cannot come at all. ‘But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness’ (Rom. 4:5). It is the peculiar mark of the faith that justifies and saves, that it brings to Christ nothing but an empty hand.”

Let us remember this as we come to worship Him and here from His Word each Lord’s day.  May we approach with humility and in the power of the Holy Spirit.
