Heritage Weekly for January 14th, 2009

Dear Family,

Reminders:

1. Elder meeting tonight at 7 p.m.
2. Mother/daughter fellowship this Saturday, the 17th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (call for details)

Next week’s (4th week of 2009) memory verse: 2 Corinthians 5:21 (in the translation of your choice)
(Review: Proverbs 3:5-6; Psalms 16:11; Ephesians 2:8-10)

We are pilgrims and exiles in a land that is not our home. The question is: How are we to live as exiles until the Lord brings us home? We are going to begin our study of the book of Daniel on Sunday. It’s a story about exiles. It’s a story about living faithfully in a land that is not your own. We’ll discover that the answer isn’t to try harder and be more like Daniel. We will learn, however, as we study Daniel and his friends in the first chapter that there is a way we can make it. If you have time, I encourage you to read chapter 1 together as a family before this Lord’s Day.

Your fellow pilgrim,

Vaughn
