Heritage Weekly for February 18th, 2009

Greetings HOFC!

Here are a few words with very large importance, especially when it comes to the unity of the church and our families:

Jonathan Edwards Resolution # 8

“Resolved, to act in all respects, both speaking and doing, as if nobody had been so vile as I, and as if I had committed the same sins, or had the same infirmities or failings as others; and that I will let the knowledge of their failings promote nothing but shame in myself and prove only an occasion of my confessing my own sins and misery to God.”

“And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?" (Mark 7:3).

May we each take Edwards’ resolution and God’s Word to heart that we might walk humbly before our God!

How are you doing on Philippians 2:5-11?  Seems like a lot of verses for just a week, but a very good passage!  Persevere…it’s worth it!

Next week’s (9th week of 2009) memory verse:  Hebrews 4:15-16 (in the translation of your choice)
(Review:  Proverbs 3:5-6; Psalms 16:11; Ephesians 2:8-10; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Micah 6:8; Psalm 86:11-12; Romans 11:36; Philippians 2:5-11)

*If you have fallen behind or haven’t begun, don’t get discouraged!   Skip to this week’s verse and start from there.  Ask the Lord to help you to be diligent in hiding His Word in your heart.
