Heritage Weekly for April 8th

Dear HOFC Family,

REMINDER: We are meeting at 10 a.m. at Yorkville’s Chapel on the Green this Lord’s Day.

In light of the many trials our church family has been having lately, prayer for each other has been much on my mind.

James 5:16 says, “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”

Let us take James exhortation to heart and pray for each other without ceasing and make supplication for all the saints, but especially our church family (I Thes 5:17; Eph 6:18). This is one of those privileges and responsibilities of local church membership which we commit to when joining the church. May the Lord be pleased to hear our prayers for one another.

As we contemplate our own sufferings and those of our brethren, let us remember Paul’s words to the Roman church:

Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. (Rom 12:10-15)

This week’s (16th week) memory verses: Psalm 1
