Heritage Weekly #81
Dear Family,
I write the words of greeting above with a joyful heart as I contemplate the wonderful family that God has put together here in the suburbs of Chicago. We are a family. We call each other brother and sister because we, by grace, have become children of God…we have one Father. We share in each other’s lives in a unique way because of what God has done in our hearts and because we have committed to live as a family at HOFC. I think this is part of the importance of membership to a local church. It is making a binding commitment to stick together no matter what…like a family.
There is nothing more comforting than knowing your are loved. There is also nothing that God uses more to sanctify us than our families. These are the people we know best. We know all their strengths and all their weaknesses. Learning to live with each other, to be patient with each other, to love each other in a Christ-like way, to serve each other, to forgive, to laugh, to weep…all of these are the lessons God has for us as a family at Heritage of Faith.
Please pray with me that God would grant us uncommon unity and perseverance so that we may demonstrate to the watching world the love of Christ by our love for one another.
Your grateful brother in Christ,
Vaughn
