The Life of God’s Witness

Series: The Gospel According to Mark

The gospel is about the coming of the kingdom of God. This advance takes place by the proclamation of faithful witnesses. In our text today we see this process of continuing the advance by the calling, equipping and sending of witnesses. The text challenges us in three specific ways. First, it calls you to examine your response to God’s prophet, Jesus. Second, it challenges you to evaluate your commission to be a witness. Finally, the text reminds you that you must be ready to bear reproach for Jesus’ sake.
