Baptism at Heritage of Faith Church

The unfortunate truth is the church of Jesus Christ is very fragmented today. There are many reasons people divide and separate themselves from other Christians. One such issue is baptism. It can be an extremely divisive issue. We at HOFC have decided that is does not have to be.

Since the Reformation godly, highly intelligent theologians on both sides of the debate have put forward excellent and convincing arguments, but the church has not been able to reconcile the issue. We have men in leadership on both sides who have agreed to put aside their differences and lead by example the kind of unity we desire to see in our church.

This does not mean we feel baptism is unimportant. We recognize it as one of two ordinances or sacraments given to the church by God (the second being the Lord’s Supper). We expect everyone whether convinced of paedo (infant) baptism or credo (believers) baptism to be baptized at the appropriate time. Infants when presented by their parents and all others upon a credible profession of faith.

Our prayer is that this sermon will help clarify our position on baptism.
